Just for Kids Law (JfKL) is seeking a Media and Communications Volunteer to support our communications and public engagement work. This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic, creative, and motivated individual who is keen to develop practical experience within a leading children’s rights legal organisation.
This internship is particularly suited to someone interested in media, communications, journalism, marketing, campaigning, social justice, or the voluntary sector. Prior legal or communications experience is not required; however, a willingness to learn, creativity, and reliability are essential.
The volunteer will work closely with staff across the organisation to help communicate our work, amplify the voices of children and young people, and support our public-facing outputs.
Role Summary
Contract term: Volunteering
Location: Central London office (EC1)
Time Commitment: One day per week.
Salary: Unpaid (reasonable travel expenses reimbursed)

Responsibilities:
Content Creation and Communications
- Assisting with the drafting and editing of newsletters, blog posts, website content, and short articles.
- Supporting the creation of clear, engaging, and accessible written content for a non-legal audience.
- Supporting the creation of digital assets, including graphics, short-form content, and campaign materials.
- Helping to maintain a consistent tone and message across platforms.
Monitoring and Management
- Assisting with the management of JfKL’s social media accounts (including scheduling posts and monitoring engagement).
- Assisting with responding to routine enquiries under staff supervision.
- Helping to organise media and communications materials and assets.
- Supporting the planning, scheduling, and coordination of social media posts to ensure consistent and timely content across platforms.

- Carrying out any other duties which fall reasonably within this role.

- Familiarity with social media platforms and basic content creation tools.
