“Since very early in my career, I have witnessed first-hand the tangible difference that Just for Kids Law makes to the lives of the children and young people they represent. Their ‘whole-person’ approach, the time spent on building relationships with young people, the determination to fully understanding the circumstances that have led to a child’s interaction with the justice system, and the fearless approach to defending young people has been lifechanging for so many children and young people. JFKL’s impact on juvenile justice, forcing change and improvement where necessary, and ensuring that lawyers and judges are alert to their professional obligations, has been immeasurable. At a time of crisis in the criminal justice system, the Just for Kids Law model of representation is more needed than it has ever been – making it a privilege to be part of the Board”.
