We're excited to announce that we are currently looking for young people with lived experience of school exclusions to join Just for Kids Law’s School Exclusions Campaign steering group. This is open to 14–24-year-olds across London who have experienced school exclusion or isolation. Young people will receive support and training to run their own campaign for a more inclusive education system for all, with opportunities to influence policy and practice both internally at Just for Kids Law and externally.
Just for Kids Law recognises young people with lived experience of school exclusion are experts by experience. In acknowledging this and to support young people’s participation, all young people on the steering group are offered support with connectivity costs (while meeting virtually), meals during meetings, travel (when meeting in person), team building activities and residentials (when permitted). On occasion internal and external paid opportunities will be offered to the steering group members.
If you're interested in applying or finding out more about the opportunity, you can get in touch with our Young People's Development Worker Michaela Rafferty via WhatsApp, text message, or phone call on 07849085217 or via email at michaelarafferty@justforkidslaw.org.
