ANNOUNCEMENT OF NEW CHIEF EXECUTIVE FOR JUST FOR KIDS LAW

Following a competitive and open recruitment process, we can now confirm that Enver Solomon has been appointed to the post of Chief Executive of Just for Kids Law.

Enver holds a wealth of experience in the charitable sector, including his most recent role as Director of External Affairs, part of the Senior Leadership Team at the National Children’s Bureau, previously the Director of Policy, Campaigns and Research at the Children’s Society and prior to that Assistant Director of Policy and Research at Barnardos.

Enver will take up this key post in the new year and follows the current Co-Chief Executives Ruth Girardet and Shauneen Lambe, one of the co-founders of the charity, who will continue to support the charity through the transition.

Just for Kids Law was set up 10 years ago by Shauneen Lambe and Aika Stephenson and provides direct advocacy support to over 1500 young people a year. Just for Kids Law also specialises in strategic litigation, provides policy and lobbying work for children and young people's rights through Childrens Rights Alliance England. Just for Kids Law also includes Let Us Learn, a leading group of young activists, organising to better represent migrant communities, Advocacy Year – a graduate training scheme providing advocacy support in more communities to more young people – and the Youth Justice Legal Centre which provides legal support, information and training on youth justice law.

Carolyn Regan, Chair of the Board of Trustees of Just for Kids Law said: “I am sure that everyone will join me in welcoming Enver to Just for Kids Law. It is an exciting time for the organisation and I know that Enver will be instrumental in helping us ensure that we continue to offer high-quality services, support and legal representation to our growing number of clients, which will ensure the next phase of the charity's growth.”

Enver Solomon said: “Just for Kids Law is a dynamic, innovative and influential charity that punches well above its weight. With demand for its services growing and the need to protect children’s rights greater than ever before, the organisation has a vital role to play over the coming years. I very much look forward to continuing its great work and achieving real change for children and young people.”
