At Just for Kids Law we see all too often how children who are victims of county lines trafficking and other forms of criminal exploitation face exclusion from school as a result.
In the coming months, the Government will be bringing out a revised version of the statutory guidance on school exclusions for headteachers and governing bodies. This is a key opportunity to break the cycle of exclusions and exploitation. Together we can make sure that no child is forced further into the hands of their exploiter.
Our briefing sets out evidence about the links between school exclusions and child criminal exploitation as well as our calls to include stronger protections for children at risk of exclusion as part of the revised statutory guidance.
