Every day more and more children and young people find themselves in crisis and don't know where to turn. They desperately need somebody to work with and for them to stand up for their rights and hold those with power to account.

Just for Kids Law (JfKL) wants all children and young people in the UK to have their legal rights and entitlements respected and promoted, and their voices heard and valued. They exist to work with and for children and young people, to hold those with power to account and fight for wider reform. They do this by providing legal representation and advice, direct youth advocacy and support, and through strategic litigation, campaigning and equipping others to work for children's rights.

JfKL are now looking for a skilled interim Director of Programmes and Participation to continue developing their youth advocacy casework and their youth opportunities and youth participation work, as well as maximising their impact for young people. Working closely with their CEO and senior management team, the Director of Programmes and Participation will play a key role in ensuring that strategic objectives are achieved. Through an inclusive leadership approach, the Director will work with a dedicated staff team to develop and deliver new plans that develop JfKL's support, as well as ensuring an integrated approach for young people across the organisation.

JfKL are looking for a passionate, inclusive and emotionally aware leader with proven experience of working with children and young people. With a background in youth work or social work, a strong understanding of youth advocacy and youth participation, and a passion for the issues young people face, you will know the importance of supporting others to make the decisions that are right for them. You will also bring strong experience of leading on safeguarding, building and managing teams, and developing collaborative cultures. You will have worked on organisational strategies, be used to making organisational-wide decisions and be adept at dealing with stakeholders from different backgrounds. You will be a natural team player, who champions staff to ensure the best outcomes for young people, with a real passion for working with children and young people facing adversity and providing holistic support.

To find out more, please initially submit a CV (Word format) and other details here; cover letters are not required at this stage. Further information will be provided to suitable candidates.

Please note this role is initially offered as a 6 month fixed term contract (with the possibility of becoming permanent).

Interviews to take place week commencing 5th December.
