Role Summary 

Contract term: Permanent    

Location: Central London     

Hours: Full time (35 hours per week)  

Salary: £33,825-£38,950 (depending on experience in a directly equivalent role)   

Probation period: 6 months  

 

Just for Kids Law is looking for an experienced and organised individual to join our team as HR & Resources Manager.  

This exciting opportunity to join an energetic and passionate organisation is a newly-created and varied role, delivering Human Resources support as well as managing our office and central administrative functions. 

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing operational and strategic support on HR and people matters, including advising managers how to develop and deliver effective people management practices. The role will be delivering the full people lifecycle in the organisation, from on-boarding to off-boarding, as well as recruitment. It also includes managing our policies and procedures and staff handbook, ensuring they are up to date and reflective of best practice. 

The role comes with line management responsibility for our full-time Resources Officer. Together, these posts provide first contact for telephone calls and visitors to Just for Kids Law. The People and Resources Manager will be responsible for maintaining our central infrastructure, which includes a busy office, as well as our IT support, health and safety compliance, and central services contracts.

About You 

Reporting to the Director of Finance and Resources, the successful candidate will have substantial Human Resources and office experience, and ideally some knowledge of how a charity operates.  It would also be useful if the candidate had experience of working in a law firm, though this is not essential. 

Key Criteria: 

  • Minimum Level 5 CIPD qualification or equivalent  

  • Knowledge of best practice in human resources and understanding of UK Employment Law 

  • Proven experience in HR, managing HR systems or processes in an office environment  

  • Experience and skill in successfully managing multiple and competing priorities from across the organisation, in a busy environment 

  • Empathy and excellent people skills including the management of sensitive situations 

  • The ability to manage complex and highly confidential information with absolute discretion and a high degree of personal integrity 

  • A high level of computer literacy with an excellent standard of writing as well as enhanced digital skills in Microsoft Office applications
