Sufina Ahmad


Sufina is the Director of the John Ellerman Foundation, a charitable grantmaker distributing circa £5.8m. annually to UK-registered charities working in the arts, social action and the environment for work in the UK and the UK Overseas Territories. Alongside her role, Sufina started a two year Executive MBA course in April 2020 with Warwick Business School. Before joining the Foundation, Sufina worked in corporate strategy and performance at the City of London Corporation. Sufina has previously worked for the National Lottery Community Fund and City Bridge Trust, in grantmaking, strategy, policy and stakeholder relations roles. Sufina also held service delivery and business development roles within the charity sector, working with adults with learning disabilities and older people mainly.

Sufina holds trusteeships with Just for Kids Law, We Belong and The Charterhouse. Sufina previously volunteered with the Institute of Fundraising, as Chair of their Expert Panel on Equality, Diversity and Inclusion – in July 2019 she was made an honorary Fellow of the Institute. She has been a fellow of the RSA (Royal Society for the encouragement of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce) since February 2020.
