Louisa joined Just for Kids Law in February 2021. Prior to this she was director of policy, rights and advocacy at Child Poverty Action Group, where she led teams developing evidence-based projects and campaigns to end child poverty, providing expert welfare rights advice to front-line advisers and using strategic litigation to establish the rights of children and their families to support from social security. Louisa is passionate about social justice and children’s rights and has worked extensively in public services, children’s services, the NHS and the justice system. She has led policy, communications and engagement for the family law group, Resolution, HM Courts Service and an NHS Community Healthcare Trust. She has also worked in government in strategy and engagement roles on a number of complex change programmes and as a consultant with the Independent Monitoring Boards of prisons and immigration removal centres and the Lay Observers, monitoring the rights of people in court custody.
